Jayasree Ahuja has a Masters degree in zoology from University of Delhi, India and an Associateship in Information science from NISCAR (formerly INSDOC), an institute working in the field of science communication and research under the aegis of Department of Science &Technology, Government of India.

Jayasree Ahuja started her professional career with Development Alternatives an NGO working on alternative technologies. Later on she had worked with the corporate sector in companies like CMC ltd, and NIIT Ltd. For the past fifteen years, she has been working as an independent researcher on various topics of research interest including developing knowledge organization systems and tools based on “Human Needs” approach, developing critical and creative thinking through inculcating leisure reading and writing habits among children, naturopathy and holistic living, women’s rights and gender-based violence against women etc.
