Rangan, Vidya

Vidya Rangan is currently the Academic Director of Primrose School, an educational institution of The Mother’s Service Society, Pondicherry, India. She has a plethora of experience in diverse fields, ranging from managing administrative affairs to running a model school that not just seeks to bring world class education to India but change the educational landscape of the country in terms of quality. Rangan has been instrumental in reforming the educational pedagogy and content delivery system at the school. Apart from the paradigm breaking work she has been doing, for the last 5 years, she has also been managing the administrative department of The Mother’s Service Society. After completing her Master’s degree in Public Administration, she had joined the Indian Railway Board, New Delhi in 1985. She opted for voluntary retirement after completing 27 years of service as Principal Private Secretary to the Additional Member of the Board. Later, she was appointed as Assistant Secretary to The Railway Recruitment Board, Chennai where she was in charge of the entire recruitment process for the southern region of Indian Railways for over 5 years. Also, she had spent 5 years in The Railway Claims Tribunal, Chennai as Assistant Registrar and was entrusted with the dealing of Railway court cases. For a year, she was with The Chennai Metro Rail Corporation, Chennai as Principal Private Secretary to the MD, CMRL at the time of finalising the first phase of Metro Rail operations in Chennai. Apart from her interest in future education, she is also into reading books and deciphering Sri Aurobindo’s works.
