Ramírez, Martín J.

J. Martín Ramírez, Head, Center for Conflict Studies, Universidad Nebrija Madrid, has earned advanced degrees in Medicine and Neurosurgery, Law, the Humanities, Education, and National Defense. Dr. Ramírez is a leader in the field of aggression research from an interdisciplinary perspective, through his roles in the Complutense Aggression Research Group, CICA, ISRA, and STR. His main focus is on the biopsychic processes underlying feelings and expressions of aggression. His main focus is on the biopsychic processes underlying feelings and expressions of aggression. He has studied such feelings in many different species, from birds and rodents to felines and primates. Dr. Ramírez has also studied aggression in humans from a cross-cultural prospective in many countries throughout the world, serving as visiting professor and research fellow at universities in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Poland, Southern Africa, Wales, and the USA. In this last country, he has served as an International Security Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and as a Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institute for War, Revolution and Peace at Stanford University, as well as Professional Associate at the East West Center in Hawaii. He is on the Editorial Board of several international journals. Dr. Ramírez is the author of more than 400 scientific publications in six languages. Among his multiple international honors, he is Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, and Advisor to the Professors World Peace Academy and to the Society for Terrorism Research.
