Pieter J.D. Drenth (1935) studied experimental psychology at the VU University and New York University. He is emeritus professor of psychology at the VU University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is former Rector Magnificus (Vice Chancellor) of the VU University, and former President of the Royal Netherlands’ Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was President and is Honorary President of the European Association of National Academies of Sciences and Humanities (All European Academies, ALLEA). He chaired the ALLEA/ESF working group that developed and published the ‘European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity’ (2011). He is fellow of the WAAS.
